Relation Between Cancer and Exercise

If you’re looking for a reason to take action, here’s a reason. Recently published an article in Journal of Clinical Oncology magazine achieved striking results in the study. In the study, the data of approximately 750 thousand people were examined for 10 years. The study showed that as physical activity increased, the incidence of breast, colon, endometrial, kidney, liver, multiple myeloma and non-hodgkin lymphoma cancer decreased.

For example, it showed that men’s colon cancer decreased by 8 percent with moderate 2,5 to 5 hours of physical activity weekly. As the intensity of the exercise increased, this rate decreased to 14 percent.

Breast cancer in women decreased by 6 percent with moderate exercise, vigorous activity was seen to be reduce by 10 percent. However, in some cancers, the risk reduction was more frequent. Endometriosis decreased 18 percent with 10 percent vigorous activity with moderate activity, 11 to 17 percent decrease in kidney cancer, 14 to 19 percent multiple myeloma, 18 to 27 percent decrease in liver cancer; and a decrease of 11 to 18 percent in non-Hodgkin lendoma.
