What is Novichok?
Last week, a russian apy worked fo UK government were poisoned by a nerve agents known as Novichok.
Novichok is an organophosphate nerve agent. It has been reported that developed by Soviets in 1970s. Presumably it is more deadly than any other organophosphate nerve agents. When its exposure with naked skin, it can be very deadly. Avarege lethal dose of the agent is 10 mg per person. It can also be delivered as liquid, powder or gas form.
Effects of Novichok on body
- Eye: Blurred vision, myosis in pupils and waterr eyes
- Elevated mucus, tears and saliva release.
- İncreased urination
- Cause gastrointestinal sympthom; nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain,
- Rapid breathing, slow heart rate
- Convulsions due to agent central nervous system effect
- Coma and dead
Nerve agents can be treatable, but the action must be immediate. If effected person left untreated, usually it kills in half an hour.
