How to use Methadone

Methadone is used to treat opioid dependence and pain management. Methadone is partial agonist of opioid receptors in the central/peripheral nervous system.

There are some adverse effects of methadone, constipation, nausea, vomiting, respiratory depression, drowsiness and orthostatic hypotension (may cause dizziness when standing up quickly).

Using methadone carry warnings before use; significant respiratory disease, hepatic and renal impairment, QT prolongation, ongoing misuse of opioids, benzodiazepines and alcohol.
